Some people recommend to not update BIOS as often. If it works, then the bios does not need upgrading according to some people since it can be somewhat risky.

if you have a good mobo that will have dual bios eg, old and new so if new screws up you can easily revert back to old one, the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" is all to easy,
I never really understood Thursdays.

I'm guesing a lot of lower end Dells, etc don't have a dual bios mobo.

I never really understood Thursdays.

I'm guesing because most people who buy Dells, Acers, E-Machines, sony, apples, etc are not very likely to update their bios. They usually hire a techy to do it when they have to, and Dell, etc spend the cash they save on installing a cheaper motherboard to install 2 more GB of entry-level ram and a slightly bigger hard drive.

I notice mostly techies, computer enthusiasts, overclockers, and power users update their firmware, bios, and drivers.

Wow, I wish Gates made a OS that requires users to learn DOS to use it.
