True, but some still wouldn't know how to run things off of usb.

I think some computers boot to USB automatically when a bootable USB is inserted into a USB port during start-up, or you need to press a button like F11 to use the start up manager to boot into a USB drive.

Not unless you change the bios or the storage disk is looking for a bootable item.

I wonder if a physical boot drive switcher button on a computer's case could make it easier for people to boot into a USB drive.

I feel someday people may use voice commands during computer startup to tell their computer to boot into a usb startup drive.

I imagine a lot of people may ask technical support what the switch does and wasting a lot of tech staff time on talking about the switch , so no one made a switch for booting into a USB drive.

I know more and more stores are pushing tech support plans with equipment purchases to help those who don't understand.
