I heard Apple sells a technical support plan which also repair devices. I heard tech support plans are expensive.

$400 is expensive. I think subscribing to a good paid antivirus, antimalware, and firewall could prevent most security problems, so people don't need to pay money at a store to remove viruses.

It also covers accidental damage, but it is still pretty far out there in price.

It can get pretty expensive if you buy a new laptop more often like every 1 to 2 years. I heard there will be laptops which make it easier for people to replace the motherboard, and screen. I think it can be a rip off to subscribe to a protection plan if it only takes the computer technician a few minutes to replace a motherboard or screen.

I think a lot of antivirus now come with system utility software for removing junk files, and disable un-needed start-up programs, so people may less likely go to a store to fix computer slowdown problems related to having too many junk files and start-up programs on a PC.

You could replace parts easily in old models, but then they made it hard to do anything and now they are going back which is good.

I think a lot of people who buy laptops now care more about fast repairs at a store, or easier repairs when they repair laptops themselves. Most of the users who care about very thin laptops may now be using tablets and smartphones most of the time, and may just own a desktop tower PC for homework, work, games, and web browsing at home.

It maybe easier for some users to keep their desktop tower PC safe from theft, and virus scans can be faster on a desktop tower PC because they usually have more RAM, faster CPU, and better cooling fans to prevent overheating.
