THE US HUMANE SOCIETY is threatening to sue Amazon for selling two magazines "The Feathered Warrior" and "The Gamecock"which both come out of US state of Arkansas. that support cockfights.
The Society threatened to begin legal action unless the magazines were immediately withdrawn from sale.
It claims that the Animal Welfare Act says it is unlawful to use the mail to promote an animal-fighting venture.
The law is weird you are allowed to use the mail to discuss a foreign chicken in another country but not those hatched in the US.
Amazon says that it does not agree with the Humane Society's claim and says it is entirely up to the punter if they want to read about cocks.
Last month it decided to stop distributing a DVD which showed pit bull fights. So it seems to be a matter of four legs good, two legs bad.
