Do you think there will ever be anything faster than solid state storage?

Yes, I think there would be something faster than SSD. I read a few years ago that it is possible to use light to transfer and store data.

If everything like the CPU, RAM, storage drive, and motherboard uses light instead of electrical signals, a computer may boot in 1 second. Light maximum speed is a lot faster than the maximum speed of electricity.

I would want a computer which can start any operating system, or large game and software in a few seconds.
