honestly I find a soft green glow that isn't pointed in a general viewing direction to be the best. But that is must my opinion.

I also like green lights which are dim to be good for indicating something is working.

I see the more higher end routers use either a bright white light or a blue light, its rather bothering really.

The bright blue lights can be very bright. I pick the white light since it maybe less distracting.

You would think so but they can be very blinding, my desktop keyboard emits bright whites lights and I have to cover them with black tape since its so bright.

It is annoying that electronics makers choose to install lights which is so bright without a way of turning down the brightness.

It be nice if you could turn them off and redirect the lights to some kind of control panel on a PC or mobile device.
