I don't have one either and I doubt I ever will unless I need it to run software or games that need the quick transfer speeds.

Re: Do you have an external USB SSD drive?

I guess USB external SSD maybe useful for laptops and Windows tablets where carrying a heavier external hard drive is not as portable, and more likely to get damaged if you drop the hard drive. External SSD may also be cheaper than 1TB SD cards which can cost a lot of money.

I agree external hard drives are not heavy. But, I think some of the external hard drives with external power supplies can be heavy unless the power supply is small.

Yeah those are called back up plus hubs, they are kind of a large heavy brick really.

Re: Do you have an external USB SSD drive?

I think more external hard drives will use a portable USB-C charger to power it, or use power from a USB-C/USB 3.1 port, so users don't need to carry around a large power supply brick.

I see a bunch of new external hard drives that came out have C connection, with an USB adapter.

Re: Do you have an external USB SSD drive?

I think USB adapters are nice because they are easier to replace when they break than buying a power supply for some hard drives which haven't been made in many years because the company like Maxtor got sold to another brand.
