It is unfortunate that spybot is still very slow after being release for many years longer than other antispyware.

anti spysweeper is just as slow, must be the deep scan both programs do.

I think some deep scans scan inside zip compress folders which make scanning very slow.

Specially if they are password protected and the scan hangs up while waiting for password to get into the file.

I always thought most deep scans skip files which are password protected since they don't have the passwords.

They do these days but some in the old days got hung up on that, bad programming at times.

I guess people used to have fewer password protected folders in the past since most hard drives were only 3 GBs or less in the 1980s and 90s, so users may have the time to sit at their computer to enter passwords to scan password protected folders.
