I heard blocking Ads could make the battery life longer because some ads have animation and sound which uses more RAM than a picture or text link ad.

It can help, as some sites are crazy with ads, specially of the animated kind.

I notice more apps now have ads as well. I think some of the animated ads are now video files instead of animated gifs.

Using a ad blocking vpn on your phone blocks it all on all apps and browsers, its really nice.

I think some VPNs also block website domains which host malware.
