I think it would be nice if routers and modems could be setup to occasionally download virus definitions for a user's antivirus, and store the virus definition on a USB fash drive, so users can still use the usb drive to update virus definitions if a user's internet is blocked by a virus.

That be pretty awesome, sometimes you have to disconnect from the network before something else gets infected.

I heard there are antivirus which can run off a USB flash drive and CD which can be useful if you need to disconnect from a network.

Hirens Boot CD is one such thing, I have one lying around here for emergencies.

I think Ultimate Boot CD have some antivirus software like ClamScan AV for removing viruses.

It has a lot of different versions if I recall right including anti-malware.

I think there is a version of Ultimate Boot CD which is based on Windows XP, so you can use antimalware made for Windows.
