which version of WIN XP is best for newer faster computers?

i don't know, but windows xp media centre edition looks pretty cool.
XP Sp2 64bit,
win MCE is an annoying pile of crap,
though to be honest you are better off on some form of linux, or Vista *gag*
WinXP is not designed for the newer units
