Which DVD+R or DVD-R Manufactuer makes good dvd media?

I have no idea. I just know that a ton of people on the net saids that Taiyo Yuden, Maxxell, Verbatim, Pioneer, and Sony makes good DVD burnable disk, and to buy DVD-/+R that's made in Japan.

Hitachi make the most reliable recording media,
LG/Pioneer make the best readers and recorders

I always thought plextor makes the best readers and recorders drives, but they cost so much.

Pioneer will burn media that other writers wouldn't go near and lg will read media others would just call errored

are the quality of dvd-r/+r better if their made in Japan campared to dvd-r/+r that are made in Taiwan, China, Malaysia and other countries?
A lot of people on the internet say that You should only buy CD-R, DVD-R/+R that are made in japan, and try to avoid buyind burnable media from countries like China, Taiwan, and Malaysia.

Any brands of DVD-R/+R people should avoid using because of poor quality control?
For example, on many other forums people say to avoid buying Ritek, Ridata, store bands, and no name brand DVD media.
