Notes: This is about my aunt who died in 2000.

The angels sang a lullaby today,
as they welcomed you home.
One of their own,
was finally where they belonged.

Your life on Earth,
was not your own.
You gave to
family, friends, work
and God.

Love is what you knew,
and kindness you practiced.
To the premature baby in the crib,
to the ninety year old in the retirement home.

My brother and I,
were without our own mother.
You stepped in,
and loved us like your own.

No one was untouched,
Your light shone,
everywhere you went.

Your life was cut short,
but many you touched,
in life and
in death.

As we remember you today,
and what you stood for,
we now know you are standing,
at the foot of Christ.

"Well done, my good and faithful servant"
are the words you will hear.
While down here on Earth,
we are filled with tears.

It's very sad when we love the people we love when they die. Your poem reminds us how we should value our love ones when they're living and remember them for being so good to us when they die. Good poem.

You seem to have a unique style--one that is able to make hope out of depression. Keep them coming, and it's great that most are centered around death and Christ. Maybe it'll help people think a little. If just a little.
