Notes: This is a poem about my cousin's suicide. This happened over 13 years ago when I was younger.

Twenty-two
How could it happen?
I still don't understand.

Dying at twenty-two
Such a young age to die.
Especially by his own hand.

Twenty-two
Still so much life to live.
Barely even a grown man.

Everything was good for him
At least that's what everyone thought.
He was the one always helping me
How was I to know, he was the one
Needing the help.

At hearing his gun shot,
What did the angels of heaven think?
He was always trying,
To win people for Him.
Why couldn't he be won?

Twenty-two
Parents fighting.
Dad never around.

Twenty-two
He wasn't supposed to leave.
But he did.

Twenty-two
I still don't understand.
Peace, I have never found.

The poem made me sad because it brought back memories of Chris Farley http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Farley who died young due to a drug over dose. He was such a talented actor, but died so soon.

The poem touched me.

I'm glad I made you feel something. Sometimes I think my poetry is too disconnected and what not. Glad to hear the nice comments.

Touches me deeply, and reminds me of something as well. An old friend's sister hung herself a year or so ago, though I didn't know her, this kind of helps me imagine what it was like for her brother, my friend.
