Colossal MP3 Player: World's Largest?

The Colossal MP3 player is anti-fashion. In a market where smaller is always better, this giant amongst gadgets is more rebellious than our own David Becker's Zune.

Lord knows who would ever buy this monstrosity (except Flavor Flav, perhaps), but if you are both myopic and fat-fingered, the Colossal features MP3, WMA and WMV playback, a built in speaker and a decidedly basic LCD display. The 256MB player runs off 4 AA cells, and costs just $20 (the picture above is snagged from Walgreens, who no longer have it in stock).

It is somewhat ironic that it only have 256 mb of space, but itès so big. I bet the battery life will be very long since it uses a 4 AA if you use headphones instead of the built in speaker.

I bet the batteries end up wasting more cash then the mp3 players since it uses 4AA batteries, and disposible batteries cost a lot, and good rechargeable batteries can cost 30 bucks or more.

I think it was released during christmas, so I think some people buy it for friends they don`t know what to buy for them for christmas. Hmmm, I found a picture of it with a desk stand. It makes more sense to own it now, but I bet the sound quality is as bad as the 256 MB of space. Though, I just buy a stereo that can play MP3s by plugging in a flash drive or other kind of memory.

It is sold at Walgreens which is a drug store in the US, so I think it for people with really fat fingers and hands, so they can`t use a regular MP3 player because their finger press two buttons when they press one button, or it is for people who have very poor eyesight and need extra big buttons like those huge calculators people sell at Staples.
