Time kept us apart
for it wasn't mean to be
we were to young
and too into ourselves.

Time allowed us
to grow up
grow apart
and grow into ourselves.
This was important,

Learn to love yourself
love selflessly
love unconditionally.
Accept the faults of others
learn the faults of self.
This was important
Time said.

Time waited five years
almost to the day
to allow us to be together.
Each had changed
grown
learned to love.
This was important,
Time said.

Today Time said,
"Take one day at a time
enjoy each day together.
Worry not about what was
is or can be.
This is important.
