Yes, since I usually have to click on a link on my e-mail then login to the forums. When I log in, I then need to open up the PM.

If I am log into the forum, I don't mind as much.

I think admins of forum should just send mass e-mails or post something in annoucement forum if it is important.

never read them thoroughly just skim em and delete.

some webservers are not equipped with sendmail like programs or have limitations in sending bulk amounts of e-mail

and mass pm is an alernative to mass e-mail which may be unavialable,

plus some folk are under the impression mass pm saves BW and resources

I hate how some admin send mass PM just to say "Why are you guys so inactive, Do you like the new forum skins, or send board statistics which are on the front page of the forums" when a topic about it will do just as well or better then a PM since people can openly discuss it.

Yea, they think people will care that there have been 3 posts in the last 2 minutes
or there are now 3,000 spam bots signed up


though just proves they have low self confidence and want to be measures against others

I got my suggestion thread deleted at the at some forum for suggesting that PM should be used for private conversations like family illness between two close friends, and not for talking about New user bars for every member to use or change of skins, etc.

I Just suggested he should use his Announcement section on the forum since it is more of an announcement then a personal message type message, and not everyone is interested in reading about the forums appearances.

The owner also sent me a pm with a subject line "WTF" complaining about how it is his first mass PM he sent and how ridiculous my sugestion was.
