Wal-Mart Getting Its Own Geek Squad, Courtesy of Dell

Post by froggyboy604 »

If I ran Wal-Mart and was brainstorming ideas to pump up customer satisfaction, offering Dell tech services would be near the bottom of my list. Free Snickers would probably be near the top. Anyways, you can guess which one Wal-Mart is actually going with.

Wal-Mart and Dell are testing the Solution Station by Dell in 15 Dallas stores, and they'll do things like repair PCs and set up home entertainment and wireless networking stuff sold by Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart and tech support just don't compute in my brain. On the bright side, I'm sure this'll mean lots of fun posts for the Consumerist crew. [WSJ]

I got a feeling they over charge costumers for installing simple things like pluging in a mouse to a usb port.

people are that desperate they'll go to wal-mart for tech support?! and worse still it's provided by dell

that's like saying "We like being incompetent being dumb is just an added bonus"

though i'm sure many morons will use and it will get rolled out to the rest of there stores

I wonder if they charge more for repairing non-Dell PC or they just tell people to get a Dell.

you mean "Braindead Moron with the IQ of your below average amoeba and half as useful"

this goes for the purchasing of dell, Apple, Sony products

Walmart sells lots of products made by Sony, Dell and Apple. I wouldn't go to wal-mart for my tech related products need. The internet have better prices, and free shipping for some items.
