Is it recommended to use a standard account rather then an administrator account for windows, linux, and other OSes?

I'm not sure, but a lot of people claim using a standard or a guest account is safer then using an admin account.

yea i'd always recommend it, as long as you don't install anything, like to execute anything or only every use 2 application IE and Outlook

linux is worse than Windows in that way if you run in non root, you have to authenticate yourself every time you wnat to do just about anything

mac best thing you can do in any mode is pour large quantities of petrol over yourself and the machine then walk into a volcano don't worry you 'll be perfectly safe the hydro carbons in the petrol will protect you. (well if your dumb enough to buy a mac you'll beleive anything)

summary :: only idiots don't run with full priviledges

damn forgot that's who we're dealing with here, if you don't run a firewall, anti-virus, antispyware (MS ones DON'T COUNT), and you if you think your bank will regularly ask you for your debit card pin then limited accounts and possibl;y the MAC cure if recommended
