No, because a lot of people still use CD and DVD to transfer files from computer to computer. Plus, external DVD drives cost a little bit more and get "lost" easily.

cd and dvd will become obsolete though, as bluray and recall tech becomes more viable,
I never really understood Thursdays.

I wonder what happen with HD-DVD since Blu-Ray seems to be taking the league wheb it comes to next gen optical formats. I think CD still be popular since a lot of people still have car stereos that only play CDs and MP3 CDs.
