Though the Wii Speak microphone peripheral will ship day and date with Animal Crossing: City Folk on November 16, the downloadable Wii Speak Channel -- the chat program that works outside of the Animal Crossing experience -- won't be downloadable until December.

Branded on the Wii Speak retail packaging is a sticker that announces "Wii Speak Channel coming in December!"

Each boxed copy of the Wii Speak peripheral features a ticket with code to enter in the WiiWare channel. Unfortunately, the US WiiWare channel currently does not have the data entry screen to type in the code.

Wii Speak will work in Animal Crossing: City Folk on Day One, though -- the delay only applies to the Wii Speak Channel.

Sounds like a cool feature for the Wii. I like how new consoles also let users use their voice to control their games.

I may look into getting Wii Speak possibly!
