Which Web based content management software is good for beginners?

I used Joomla, but it can be kind of confusing sometimes.

Is Drupal a better content management software? A lot of people say it is good, or are there better CMS out there.

To be honest it varies on persons tastes and how much they prefer "pretty" over "functional"

Though sometimes it's just easier to modify phpbb with a portal mod very little file editing usually
I never really understood Thursdays.
