I think once Fibre Opric Broadband and High End PC become more affordable and common people will make Websites which are similar to videogames or media players where people go to download their HQ video files, pictures, audio. Plus, websites might become 3D instead of 2D to take advantage of the extra space in a 3D GUI.

Plus, File sharing websites will probably be more popular.

The costumers are paying for the extra bandwidth, so they might as well use it for something instead of using the net to search for text files or playing silly flash games.

Definitions of terms

Fibre Optic Broadband is the fastest internet people can subscribe to if they have the cash. It has downloads and uploads speeds around 1 Gbps in Japan, but it costs 56 bucks a month in Japan

it's unlikely the web will change "HUGELY" but the use of AJAX style technologies and to place more applications online are likely to be the only major differences.

As with sites in the days of Win 98 where they were mostly HTML and text, and now alot of sites contain Image,s Flash files.
though what will limit the advancement in web technologies are the browsers no point creating a super cool website that only works in 1 very rarely used browser,
