Would viagra be a good word to ban in a forum?

I don't really see the point of people posting the word viagra on a forum for legitimate reasons unless it is a health forum, or viagra support group.

I read that many people banned the names of drugs like Viagra, pain killers, and ciales on their forum to cut down on spam.

these people are generally idiots who do not realise there are thousands of antispam methods out there that are so much more effective.

banning the word: viagra will stop possible 5-10 % (depending on spam level)
banning words : viagra, cialis, free gold will get arond 20%

however implementing an easy implementable decent captcha system will get 99.8%

is it me or does using a captcha system seem so much easier?

Rough stats for mxproject,

out of 5,000 spam attempts 12 have got through,

thats pretty damn good.

as for banning the word I see no reason unless someone starts a honest topic to talk about it which would just be awkward to talk about.

I believe the 12 who gotten through are real people. I deleted some post from a new member who was talking about selling Viagra. The recession is really making people desperate to scam from people who are in need of sexual enhancement drugs for a cheap price.

I think it be a good idea to ban the word viagra at a sexual harrasement , femminst forum, or a mainly female forum since it is not very relevant to the forum and can be very uncomfortable and difficult to talk about.

The default Captcha for phpbb2 is not very good, and some people are too lazy to use a better captcha system like ReCaptcha.

I don't really like those forums which force me to post once in a guest forum, before I can access the entire forum to prevent spam.
