How reliable is the info on a Wiki like Wikepedia?

Wiki are articles that everyone online can access to edit and read.
I find Wikis sometimes more reliable then some news sites like CNN, but Wiki can be kind of bias since a lot of the time they are edited by fans, fanboys.
For example, Apple Fanboys won't post negative news about Apple products while sites like engadget, theregister, and Gizmodo will.
Wiki are okay for finding info on an operating systems minimum requirements, or definitions on simple questions like who is the US president in what year.
