Yes, I expect Asian independent and unsigned bands and singers are not popular outside of Asia since it is very rare for their songs to be used in games, music, and other Asian entertainment like most American and Canadian independent musicians who don't really get recognized for their songs compared to signed singers who work for major record labels like Disney, RCA, BMG, Sony, Zomba, Jive, and Warner.

without a doubt, since there is no way to get there music out and known to the public unless they move to another country and sing it there.

I notice a few Asian artist who are independent artist got success on YouTube, but they usually have success after their video becomes popular or someone signs them, but it is very rare since there are so many singers on YouTube these days.

With stores like iTunes and Amazon, they are a little popular outside of Asia. Independent bands aren't really popular anywhere.
