Is there nothing china rips off?

A theme park in China's Szechwan province constructed a large orange statue that looks similar to the RX-78 Gundam erected in Tokyo last year. While the Gundam lawyers are going into mobile lawsuit mode, the park's operators say theirs is original.
The Japanese media is quick to point out obvious similarities, but China's Floraland Park is rejecting the claims that their 15-meter mecha copies Gundam. Can't you tell, it's totally different!
The statue was constructed for the Christmas season, Kyodo News reports. It is being held up by a series of wires.
Debuting in 1979 in Gundam, the Gundam mecha franchise also has a devoted following in China.

Indeed, China makes a lot of similar looking thing other countries make.

China's laws are different since China is Communist, and probably does not care much for counterfeiting.

Without a doubt, but I think no one really wants to go to China to sue someone since going to China is kind of dangerous if you go there to sue a Chinese Company. China might hold people as political prisoners for no reason or having a different point of view like many Communist countries.

suing someone in china is like close to impossible. i actually moved to china, and been here for the past 8 months and let say breaking law is so easy in china, no one really checks for it either, although there are moments that they do randomly check and randomly throw people in jail for like visa expiration and random stuff. but yea, one of the best thing china has to offer is copying things. plus if you're doing business over the internet, most of the time u don't even know if the company actually exists or not, they could just be scamming your money. my company has ran into a this issue multiple time. but, i'm glad to say i'm leaving china in a month or so. time to go back home =D oh and yes, doing business in china is freaking annoying, i hate it and theres a lot of contract breach, breaking contracts, misunderstanding, etc.
