usually when it comes to screen resolution, it ends with a p ie 720p. But the tv I got and some other people I know only get i ie 720i.

there a difference between the two?

I think i stand for interlace and P stands for progressive scan.

"an erroneous term found in numerous sources and publications. Typically, it is a typo in which the author is referring to the 720p HDTV (high-definition television) format. However, in some cases it is incorrectly presented as an actual alternative format to 720p.[1] In fact, no proposed or existing broadcast standard permits 720 interlaced lines in a video frame at any frame rate.[2]"

But, I heard the average person can't really tell the difference from watching a i TV vs a P TV.

I don't see the point in a i or p tv.
