Google Android is a pretty good free operating system for phones, tablets, and computers.
There can be so many versions which can make it confusing for the consumer like picking the right version of Windows, and they might feel ripped off after learning the next version of Android came out, and they bought an older phone or tablet with an older version of Android.
Changing some settings like the desktop background, Wi-fi, apps, and installing apps can be somewhat harder for newbies, but technology is hardly ever easy for newbies.

Same for me, I'm glad we now have alternative to Apple's iOS, Blackberry, WebOS, Meego, Simbian, and Java. Plus, there are a lot of Apps, and files which are compatible with Android.

blackberry's not really an alternative to anything unless you lick very expensive bricks also webOS has been dumped.
i'd pick anything over iOS it's a giant bug and people are to stupid to realise that

I dont like Blackberry as an alternative since it sort of reminds me of the more advance looking Flip phone operating systems with a few more apps and features.
I read HP's WebOS is now opensourced, but Google Android is also open sourced I believe since they are both based on Linux, but HP just doesn't want to admit that it is pretty much dead, and people are installing Google Android on their HP touchpads instead...
I also don't like iOS since it seems like a very restrictive operating system, and their App store is heavily monitored to not allow certain apps which is too mature, or disagree with Apple's view points.
At least with Android as long as you have the .APK installer file, and you have enough space to install it, you can install Apps from third party app stores, and your MicroSD card.
