Yes, I think Google Android is the fastest growing mobile operating system since it is free, and has a lot of useful free and cheap apps people can download and use on the Google Android Marketplace, GetJar, Android Amazon Apps Store, etc.

Plus, most of the other free mobile operating systems like WebOS, BlackBerry, Symbian, Java, Meego seems mostly dead, or not gaining any popularity from new users.

Windows Phone 7 also seems to be not doing so well since I don't see or know anyone use one on the streets. I think a large percentage of Windows Mobile phone users are using Google Android now because there is a better selection of non-Nokia phones, and more free and cheap apps.

Over time, Apple iOS will probably is already losing popularity since it requires you to buy an iPhone, and be stuck with Apple Products. Plus, Android has most of the popular Apps for iOS, or better alternative apps which are free, or do the same thing for a free or cheaper price.

Google Android might even be me more popular then Windows 8 Desktop/Tablet Operating System if more people own mobile phones then laptops and desktops, and people switch to different non-Windows operating systems like FreeBSD, Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSuse, and other alternative OS because they are tired of the "Blue Screen of Death" or the new Windows 8 tablet user interface when W8 is released.

Indeed, the Google name will give it a huge boost since Google also use their fans base, Google Ads and YouTube to promote Android to billions of people a month and it is currently the only free popular mobile operating system which works with a lot of smartphone, and tablet devices.

You can also install it on your PC or laptop if you want to if you need a free and fast operating system for your PC or laptop.

Indeed, this is one of the funniest things about the Android devices since they are not all the same like iPhones, and other devices which all look the same and uses similar hardware and user interfaces.

Indeed, it would take a week or longer rather then just buying one version like the iPhone, Hand Held console, etc, but at least there are cheaper android devices foor people who can't afford anything better, and there are very fast android devices which are very fast and have more storage, but cost more.

I think most people just buy the most popular versions of Android devices like the Amazon Kindle Fire which is based on Android, and what ever Android phone which has the most users since it will be easier to find free technical support on forums, blogs, and from people you know offline if you don't know how to use a device since so many people are posting about it online.
