Yes, I think those home made aluminum Wifi boosters could work, but they may make your room look less clean, and if you live with other people, they might complain that the aluminum foil make the room the router is in look less clean, and it can be kind of awkward to answer questions like "Why is there a piece of aluminum foil next to your modem or router?".

That's pretty neat really, and who cares if it makes the room a bit odd. You need that wifi strength.

I agree, people need the Wi-Fi strength. I tried this trick, and I notice my Wi-Fi works a little faster in farther areas, and I get fewer slow downs when watching longer HD YouTube videos.

It also may makes a boring looking router more stylish by adding a silver curve on the Antennae of a router.

Do you need to have a Antennae though? I think mine is inside the netgear stand box.

I think you can make a taller aluminum curve which curves around both sides of the router for vertical routers. It may be best to make the curve taller than the actual router.

could be tough keeping the aluminum standing as my router is tall:

Maybe taping multiple sheets of aluminum foil together to make it thicker, and using tape to tape it to your table may help at keeping it standing.
