Where and when did pop music come from? I'm in band and I need to write an essay on 1 type of music I chose "pop music." I need to finish by tomorrow please help.

Pop means popular... So I think anything that's popular for a certain time.

there is lots of pop sub names like j-pop and classic pop. What pop are you studying?
