What is one current piece of tech you use daily that you couldn't live without?

My desktop computer. If I wanted to, I bet I can use it to make telephone calls, and other stuff since there are a lot of software and tutorials for turning a PC into something else like a telephone system.

A 56K dial-up modem is needed to make calls with the phone jack on the wall of your home. Windows XP had a phone dialer program which let you make calls with your dial-up modem on a PC. You also need a microphone for talking on the phone, and speakers for listening to the phone calls.

There are also internet programs like icall which let you make calls over the internet sort of like Skype, but with phone numbers instead of user names.

I thought the sky call thing was just video chat.

I think Skype can also make voice calls to telephones and text cell phones as well.
