THROUGH MY EYES.
As I stand here, staring at the mirror
And this person staring back is too familiar.
Through her eyes I saw her greatest and weakest moments
I felt as though if time had frozen.
There I am standing tall and confident
But looking at her made my heart soften
She stares at me like she wants to tell me her life story
She stares at me as if she wish she could be set free
As I’m looking my eyes began to tear
Through my eyes flashed everything I loved and feared
My emotions went crazy as I’m staring at this girl who looks just like me
There were so many questions I would love to ask
Like how have she been, or what’s her life’s task
Does she go around smiling when she’s crying inside
Or bottle up her emotions like everything’s all right
She just stares back without any answers
Thinking to myself have I scared her?
She seem as though she wanted to cry
Tears of joy or tears of lies
I wish I could wipe them away
But my hands are frozen by my side
This I couldn’t understand
This was not part of the plan
I just wanted to get to know her
I just wanted to get closer
But all I found was tears from her eyes
And as I turn away from her
I finally realized
Looking in the mirror is like looking at myself
Seeing all the pain and joy of what my life’s about
I cry because truly deep down inside
I’m imprisoned just like the girl before my eyes.
