What should one look for when they want to buy a PC that would be quiet, as in, no loud fan noises?

There are now fanless PC which don't need fans for cooling because it uses the metal case and metal fins for cooling it.

If you want a quiet PC with fan cooling, it is best to build your own PC, use a custom case with thick metal walls, and use big fans which spin slowly.

what exactly do you mean by metal fins?

Fanless case shas metal fins on the outside to help cool the case from the outside air.

Fanless CPU coolers also use metal fins to help cool the CPU with the surrounding room air.

sounds like a good option, if you're in A/C room 24/7 every day of the year.

I think if you live in colder places, and the heat does not get overly hot, a non-AC place would work well for these fanless PC coolers and cooling cases. CPUs, and video cards which are the hottest things inside of a computer case can run very hot, and still run without crashes.

Some CPUs, and video cards these days don't create a lot of heat, but they run a lot slower than more powerful CPUs, and video cards which may need a good fan cooler most of the times unless you have a very good fanless cooler, and your home is cool.

I've been reading how they been cooler, but you still can't let them run in a hot room or their life span will shorten.
