Broken Tech

What do you do with old broken tech? Do you just throw it out or find a place to recycle it?

I usually find a place to recycle it, or just keep it around since most of the tech I own don't take up a lot of space, and I don't own a lot of tech.
There is also a chance some of my broken tech may become antiques in the future, and worth a lot of money, so I don't want to risk throwing them out to latter learn in many years what I thrown out is worth many hundreds, thousands or maybe even millions of dollars if I sold it at an auction.
I know that some old computers, watches, typewriters, record players, and other old stuff are worth a lot now because there are rich people who collect other people's old tech.

I try to recycle as well, but not many places offer the needed service.

You can sometimes take the tech apart, and just recycle the metal, plastic, and glass in some of your tech. I think you can sell metal, and earn back a few cents to dollars by selling metal to a metal buyer.
There are some people who buy broken tech on eBay, and use it as parts to repair other broken tech sort of like how people buy broken cars, and use parts from other broken cars to fix their broken car.

my local college takes old PCs to fix up or use for parts. Just a pain getting them out there.

I think a lot of computer hardware courses use old computers to teach students how to take apart computers, and re-build a computer after taking a computer apart. Taking apart old computers, and putting them back together is a good way to learn how to build computers.

yeah, I took it last year. Was called troubleshooting and was a really fun class.
