Have you ever bought something that was reviewed as bad but worked great for you?

HDMI and USB cables from the dollar store was not recommended by some people online, but they have been working for many years.

My first tablet which is the 2011 Kobo Vox did not have good reviews compared to the original Amazon Kindle Fire, and other cheap tablets. But, the Vox tablet still works after almost 6 years of use. It is not fast compared to modern tablets like iPad, but it still good enough for watching HD video, and YouTube videos if the Wi-Fi connection is fast. It also has a MicroSD card slot, so I can use the memory card slot to load a lot of videos and music to my device.

I didn't know dollar stores sold HDMI cables, will look into that.


I took a gamble about a year ago on a vizo sound bar, it was half and half on good and bad reviews but I needed one and that seem to be the best for the price. So far no issues with it granted though I take good care of my stuff and shut off things when not in use.
