I think food eating videos are popular in Korea because some Koreans just want to know how the food looks like, and if it taste good according to the person eating the food in the video. But, the viewers are not as interested in learning how to cook food like cooking shows which are popular in American Food channels like Food TV.

Some Koreans may watch these videos to feel less lonely if they eat alone in their room, or live on their own since these videos are filmed in the first person view, so it is almost like you are eating with the person in the video.

I also read comments where some people relax when watching these eating videos because the sound from food chewing, and visual eating movements give them tingles which are relaxing feelings all over their body sort of like when someone tickle you in a relaxing way.

I agree people will truly watch anything. It is kind of strange that video makers who eat food in front of a camera have a large following of online fans.

There are probably some viewers who watch these videos mainly to listen to stories which the video maker tell while they eat of food sort of like Twitch where some streamers also tell stories about their lives, or news like gaming news while they stream games.

I never thought it get anyone any views. But each their own.

The reason why Food Eating videos are popular in Korea every second a video going viral literally, are the pleasurable shots of “Oozing Cheese”, “Dripping Chocolate”, “Scrumptious Street Food”, etc. These videos are engaging koreans and with the attention span of people going low, these short videos give them good food porn to gawk at.

There is something about food and human. It’s satisfying to watch food videos. Isn’t it?
