New TV Cable boxes and DVRs are simpler PCs with a simpler operating systems, user interface, and slower performance, so a lot of old people are using PCs without knowing it.Skeithex wrote:I won't give it up either, but I do wonder how long it is before I decide to stop where I am with technology. Tech will always evolve and most likely beyond my use just like the old people of today won't use a PC or will give it up once they no longer need it like work related things.
everything is computer anymore, even telephone calls, but to generally use a classic PC most are giving that up.froggyboy604 wrote:New TV Cable boxes and DVRs are simpler PCs with a simpler operating systems, user interface, and slower performance, so a lot of old people are using PCs without knowing it.Skeithex wrote:I won't give it up either, but I do wonder how long it is before I decide to stop where I am with technology. I think I still won't use voice commands, or video chat much in the future because text seems more convenient, and private where people sitting next to me can't hear me talking or see who I am talking to like using voice commands and video chat.
I agree everything is a computer now. I think regular old fashion landlines are not available in many places now, and many home phones use Cable internet cables, Fiber optic cables, wireless signals, and more modern connections which connect to the internet, or a network which is similar to the internet or work networks.Skeithex wrote:everything is computer anymore, even telephone calls, but to generally use a classic PC most are giving that up.froggyboy604 wrote:New TV Cable boxes and DVRs are simpler PCs with a simpler operating systems, user interface, and slower performance, so a lot of old people are using PCs without knowing it.Skeithex wrote:I won't give it up either, but I do wonder how long it is before I decide to stop where I am with technology. you can still get small pcs via raspberry pi to do all that for a very cheap cost.froggyboy604 wrote:

I agree most people seem to be giving up classic PCs, but they may make a comeback as more people plan on starting a blog, forum, record music/audio, or make videos to publish on YouTube, and write books where a classic PC has the best software for creating content.
