I own $200 netbooks with a 16-32 GB SSD. I feel SSD are not worth it, and the larger size storage SSD like 1TB cost too much. The SSD load programs faster, but the storage is less than a hard drive. I rather have more storage without paying a lot of money. I think smaller size SSD like 16GB can be cheaper to buy for 10 dollars which cost less than a laptop 2,5 inch hard drive which cost around $50.
SSDs maybe likely to get damaged by power surges, or static electricity like RAM where a power surge and static electric can break the RAM chips.
SSD can be worth it for web hosting servers where visitors complain that your website loads slower. A SSD on a web hosting server could make a website load faster.

I think thats what sells SSDs despite their price. I'm sure in 10 years they will be affordable, HDD being dirt cheap.

They also make no noise which would be good for computers which need to be very quiet like computers which are used to record sound, and music.

Can't say I've ever heard of a loud HDD from a pc before.
