Battery Savor for laptops?

What are some good ways to save battery life on a laptop? You know so it don't run out as fast without a power cord in it to keep it going.

I feel lowering the screen's brightness and turning off bluetooth, and closing programs you are not using can help save battery life.

I have a lot of that employed, but my battery still gets eaten up quickly.

Maybe a software problem is draining your battery because your software is using a lot of RAM and CPU resources.

nothing from what I can see, though I could simply have a cheap battery.

I agree, you may have a cheap battery. Batteries seem to be cheaply made these days since I read a lot of people complain of low battery life.

the fact they are built into the PC doesn't make it any better.
