I think some RAM cooler heatsinks, and some smaller CPUs use thermal tape to stick a heatsink to a chip.

I would hate to tape everything up as removing it be a pain.

I think the tape drying out over time, and not sticking can cause problems.

It usually holds, thanks to the constant heat from the machine parts.

I feel thermal tape can be better than some thermal paste which is not as thick, and may leak out because of vibrations from accidents.

Yeah, but I've learned that tape doesn't do as well as it should.

I wonder if thermal glue would do better at lowering a CPU's temperature.
