I think using an older style tube crt monitor may make using apps and games look okay even if the screen is lower resolution. A lot of people played older Xbox 360 games on older tube TV, and the games look decent.

The older tvs do look better for low res stuff, plan on getting one myself for retro games use.

I heard older tube tvs also have less lag problems where the videos don't look as smooth or have a slower ghosting problem when playing fast pace games.

Old tvs may not be as sharp, but they always hold a good picture for a great many years. They hardly ever go bad.

That is true, I seen some old TVs which last for many years. I think some of the older LCD and Plasma TVs may last longer than current LCD TVs which may use cheaper parts or have more features like Smart TVs which has more parts like RAM, and storage chips which may wear out more easily.

I wish flat screens lasted longer, since they are nicer and very light weight.
