There's a new form of media coming out called "Blu-Ray." It's suppose to be like the CD and DVD, only it's backwards compatible. But that's not all, it more precise than the CDs and DVDs that use the red laser to red. The blue laser is more precise, making pictures more clear.. HD quality. Single layered discs hold 25GB while dual-layered holds 50GB. That is huge! But if you want to read on, you can go here.
I know the Playstation 3 is going to use this.. I hope it's as great as it sounds. :D

currently Companies are having issues with blu-ray the technology is to complicated,
it's about 50/50 on companies backing HD-DVD and BLU-RAY
i'd much rather HD-DVD, but for optical disc media, blu ray looks a viable solution but with teh problems i've heard about it i'd stick with HD version until blu-ray discs/burners/readers have all the kinks worked out
