Can names of animals be also considered names of foods that come from that animal?

Something on your mind, or having a bad day? Talk about anything in here.

I notice some people say they like eating Chicken, but poultry is the meat food name for chicken and a few other birds with feathers.

But, most people say they like to eat beef instead of I like to eat a cow.

I`m wondering why certain foods people say the animal meat name like ``poultry, beef, veal, etc`` and certain foods people say the general non-scientific animal name.

hmm, well depends really, if beef is to difficult to formulate then sure call a cow a pig and a pig a duck and a duck a chook naturally call a chook a swan goes without saying really

if your going iwth the whole call meat by it's animal, confuse the animal with something else, and when correct argue about it,
I never really understood Thursdays.
