Let's say your 20-year-old daughter runs up an astounding $5000 cellphone bill from talking to her good-for-nothing boyfriend too much. Do you a) cancel her service and make her get her own phone? b) reprimand her and block the offending number from the phone? c) grab her and spank her like she's seven. If you answered c), you just might be James Phillips of Portland, Maine, who did just that. He's now being charged with domestic violence. Make sure to keep an eye on your minutes, readers. Okay, people who aren't responsible with money should buy pre-paid cell plans. She probably was spank really hard by her dad to justify pressing charges on him.

I found it kind of strange that the dad is a blind lawyer, Plus, he is the CEO of a non-profit organization that helps people with vision problems. The daughter sounds like a brat who have an odd relationship with his father because she also stole her dads cellphone after the argument about the cell bill and then call her boyfriend.

I read somewhere that family bundle plans for Cell phones are cheaper, so I guest she was on her dad's plan, and her dad trusted her for not over using her cell phone. I found this article kind of funny, too. The girl sounds like a bratty who doesn't know the value of money for having a $5000 cell phone bill and the dad seems to have anger problems.

1. The 20 year old daughter would not be in my house. She is an adult who should have her own place. She would have been out of my house at 18.
2. She would not be on my cell phone plan. She is an adult who should have a job to pay for her own cell phone, or have her boyfriend pay for it since she calls him.
So those are the first two bad moves, and the thirds would be spanking her since she is an adult. Her no good boyfriend, high cell phone bill, and finding a place to live would be her problem not mine.
I would have instead pressed charges against her for theft, and sued her for the cost of the cell phone bill.. and she would have had to pay the legal fees in addition to any "damages" or "emotional distress." I would have sued her so she would have had no choice but to pay.
Either way, it serves him right for being so stupid.
