40 %. Fake Profiles On Facebook?

Post by froggyboy604 »

A security company says that up to 40% of new profiles on Facebook could be fake, created to push malware.

Security firm Cloudmark has said that between 20-40% of new profiles on Facebook could be fake, created by spammers to push malware.

Neil Cook, European head of technology services at Cloudmark, told Vnunet:

"Social networks are very collaborative so it's great for spammers and virus writers to attack. As soon as social networking took off, so did the attacks."

Spammers would post infected links on the walls of real users, hoping they’ll click on them, or ask to be added as friends. A query message would redirect users to a malware site.

if you relying on social networking sites to "host images" i suggest complete brain removal,

Social Net sites give you little to no control over images unless you plan on creating several hundred accounts to be able to share only certain images with certain folk.

Reasons to not get your own hosting and domain .....

1. errr..... it will cost a few dollars

I agree Social sites file management system for users are very basic.

But, webhosting filemanagement system has more features like protected directories, FTP client access, etc.

lol, those one click upload galleries usually have very little control over the dimensions of your pictures and compresses them a lot sometimes.
