The Dark Knight is back!

Post by Skeithex »

Updating a previous report posted this week in which we linked to a SuperHeroHype.com piece stating that Warner Bros. would not be re-releasing “The Dark Knight” in theaters, the studio has sent out an official press release stating that the film will indeed head back to both theaters and IMAX across the country on January 23.

Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. Pictures President of Domestic Distribution is quoted in the press release saying that, “‘The Dark Knight’ is a crowning achievement in every sense of the word. We wanted to provide one more opportunity for moviegoers to experience it on the big screen as it was meant to be seen.”

While Fellman made it clear that this is an opportunity for those who missed this summer’s mega-blockbuster to see the film the way it was intended to be seen before it heads to DVD Valhalla (as well as us fanboys who are definitely gonna check it out one more time), the re-release is also the studio’s last-ditch effort to get “The Dark Knight” recognized for Oscar contention. Likewise, the re-release would easily push the overall gross of the film to over one billion dollars, as the film currently stands at $996.1 worldwide.

Cool, I think not a lot of people rewatch it in theatures since movie tickets are kind of expensive unless you go to a discount movie theature $2-$5 a ticket.

It came out on the 9th. Lol just ask me for movie release dates I work at Blockbuster.

They came out with a 1 disc, 2 disc and a three disc.
the 2 disc comes with a digital copy + an "exclusive blockbuster journal" if you buy it from Blockbuster.
and I have no clue what comes with the 3 disc

Nice, I like how more DVD and Blu-rays come with a digital copy since it lets people who are not very tech savy play their Movie on their computer or Portable video player without having to rip their DVD somehow.

Sounds like a good gift to get someone who is a Batman fan.

Blu-ray doesn't come with a digital copy. It's just the blue ray disc itself.

Edit: wait its MOST, blu-ray i think the special edition of bat man has a digital copy.
