CrunchPad Web Tablet will cost less then $300

Post by froggyboy604 »

Mike Arrington's CrunchPad web tablet has a few prototypes.

There will be an announcement in July or August, and it'll be available "as soon as possible."

Atom-powered touchscreen CrunchPad is for internet
it boots directly into a WebKit browser no hard drive or keyboard, but you can plug in a keyboard if you want.

It support Flash,

12-inch screen.

Looks neat, but without choice of browsers, or a built in keyboard. I don't see this going very far unless it is surprisingly cheap. I guest if you just use bookmarks to browse the web it will be okay.

Browse the web with it. I guest it is basicly a touchscreen computer for just going online. I can see this being useful if you are a waiter or waitress. You can just use it to write orders down with.

I think my neck would get major pains if I kept looking down all the time. I do a lot of reading and typing on the net.

Maybe an Easel will be good for this pad. I can see this be useful for going online while on the subway, or bus instead of carrying a laptop since I think some buses, and trains now have free Wi-Fi in some cities. But, I will be afraid of getting mugged if I bring this on public transit.

But, I don't see many people buying the Chrunch Pad Web tablet with the falling prices of computers.
