cleaning inside your computer

Post by Skeithex »

I notice on the vents of a computer tower that after a year or two they get full of dust, do you ever have to open up your computer and clean the inside out of dust or anything else?

I clean my computer every 6 month by opening up and using compressed air. My room is not very dusty.

cans vents just rub them while the computer is on it's generally enough until you can clean,

lumps of dust you can see form the outside just rub them and they will usually fall out/in

And in computers that don't get opened much it's worth just pulling the side panel and checking theres not a couple kilo's of dust congregated at the bottom, which has happened to me so many times it's getting disturbing.

Hmmm, Water/liquid cooling might be a good solution for dusty environments, but I hate to recover from a liquid spill. Better yet working in a very cold place with AC turned to 10 C or less might also work well for cooling a computer.

i find air filters work well for dust or clean environment often, which i will admit i don't

but cool you can't beat a liquid nitrogen cooling system, at 0 humidity,
